The Bauchi State Commissioner of Budget and Planning, Alhaji Shehu Barau Ningi, has resigned his appointment over alleged unjustified and deliberate marginalization. Addressing journalists over his decision, he alleged that he was not given an enabling environment to function effectively as commissioner.
Ningi said he and his supporters were marginalized despite their contribution to the governor’s victory at the polls.
According to him, Ningi Emirate which he represents in the cabinet is marginalised through lack of developmental projects as it was also sidelined in the recent awards of contracts for road projects.
When contacted over the commissioner’s resignation, the Press Secretary to the Governor, Abubakar Al-Sadique said that it was Ningi’s rights to accept or resign his appointment.
