Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is having a negative effect on Kelechi Iheanacho’s confidence and ability, according to Michael Owen.

The former Liverpool striker was impressed with Iheanacho’s performances under Manuel Pellegrini, but believes he has “regressed” under Guardiola.
Iheanacho scored eight goals last season for City and has netted six times in the current campaign since Guardiola took charge at the Etihad, including four in the league.
But the Nigeria international lasted just 45 minutes of Monday’s Premier League clash against Burnley being replaced at half-time by Sergio Aguero, who bagged the winning goal for City.
Owen believes that Guardiola’s management style is affecting Iheanacho, and that he does not look like a striker filled with confidence.
