New Nokia 3310 Has One Major Flaw and it will not be Fixed anytime soon.... Find Out

Image result for nokia 3310 2017
The new Nokia 3310 is a brilliant little feature phone that revives many of the best traits of the iconic original device. However, there is one incredibly important feature that will be missing from the redesigned Nokia 3310 and reports says it’s not going to rectified ahead of the UK release date.
The new Nokia 3310 was one of the biggest surprises from the Mobile World Congress tradeshow this year.

Nokia’s revived classic is a charming little €49 device that brings back many of the best features from the original Nokia 3310, which was released some 17 years ago, and went on to become one of the biggest-selling devices for the Finnish technology company.

Nokia has made a number of changes to the new Nokia 3310 to bring it up-to-date with rival devices, including the addition of a 2MP rear camera, Bluetooth connectivity, and an overhauled Snake game.

However, HMD Global (the technology company that now sells smartphones under the Nokia brand) missed the opportunity to include one of the most important popular features of a modern phone – WhatsApp.
Image result for nokia 3310 2017

The 2017 edition of the Nokia 3310 does ship with access to Twitter, as well as email, but does not allow users to use WhatsApp – the world’s most popular messaging application.

The iconic phone rugged build quality as well as the month-long standby battery life makes the Nokia 3310 a perfect secondary device, for situation when you likely don't want to be carrying around a smartphone – like a festival.

However the fact that Nokia 3310 owners are unable to jump into their usual group conversations, and send messages to friends abroad without incurring the usual international rates, could be a real sticking point for some nostalgic customers.

Google Allegedly planning a 'super Pixel' handset to to take on Apple's iPhone 8

Image result for google pixel 2
The head of hardware at Google has confirmed that the firm is developing a second-generation Pixel for the allegedly ‘premium smartphone market’. It is believed that the 'Pixel 2' could launch this fall
The confirmation comes from Rick Osterloh during an interview with AndroidPT.
‘There is an annual rhythm in the industry,’ Osterloh said in the interview.
‘So, you can count on us to follow it’
‘You can count on a successor this year, even if you don't hear a date from me now.
Although the Pixel 2 is planned to be release around the same time as the iPhone 8, Google is however focusing on the upper price segment of the market.
The confirmation comes from Rick Osterloh during an interview with AndroidPT. Google’s second-generation phone (pictured is the original Pixel) would go head-to-head with Apple’s launch of its rumored iPhone 7s and highly-anticipated iPhone 8

Osterloh stated that ‘Pixel stays premium’ and the firm will ‘leave lower price segments to other manufacturers’.

The firm launched the Pixel line around the same time as the iPhone 7 was revealed.

'We believe the next big thing will be at the intersection of hardware and software,’ Osterloh said in October. And he also took aim at Apple, saying the phone has 'no unsightly phone bump'.

Brian Rakowski of Google said the phone was 'designed inside and out to be smart'.
He said the Pixel's new camera was better than the iPhone 7.
'It's the best smartphone camera anyone has made,' he said.

Huawei’s P10 flagships Comes in Diverse Colours for your delight

Are you bored of the same old monotone/metallic smartphone color choices, Huawei has been thinking a little differently for its just announced P10 and P10 Plus flagship handsets and guess what, it is offering a spectrum of shades, including a striking deep blue option and a pale green.
Which mostly underlines how tricky it is for Android OEMs to stand out in such a packed and competitive space these days where phone buyers really are spoilt for choice.

As well as colorful hardware, Huawei also talked up software themes customized for each of the external shades. There’s also three different hardware finishes available, from high gloss to a more textured-look sandblast.

Both devices are reported according to TECHCRUNCH to have dual lenses on the rear, a 20MP monochrome and 12MP RGB lens, to support photo-processing features such as a bokeh effect that blurs the background. The Plus also gets boosted low light performance thanks to an f1.8 aperture lens.

Pricing wise, in Europe the P10 starts at €649, while the P10 Plus starts at €699.

Nokia 3310 - SEVEN things you need to know about Homecoming Decive

Image result for nokia 3310 android
Its all round the news and media that the Nokia 3310 is staging a revolutionary and iconic comeback to the mobile market.
it should be noted that this device is one of the most used mobile phones in sub-sahara and major African countries. Although coming with a slight new difference, fans are rest assured to expect nothing else from a great device straight from the box.
Here are seven thing we think you should know already about the Iconic Device - Nokia 3310
  •  126 million units of the original Nokia 3310 have been sold worldwide making it one of the most popular phones ever.
  • The Nokia 3310 was first announced in September 2000 and was released later that year - it cost, a rather hefty, £129.99 on a pay-as-you-go deal.
  • The phone featured a 900mAh battery which had an official standby time of 260 hours - that's 10 days without needing a charge.
  •  The famous Snake game wasn't first seen on Nokia phones. The very first Snake-type adventure was actually an arcade game called Blockade which was created back in 1976.
  •  Although the original 3310 was expensive it's expected the new 3310 will go on sale for a much more affordable price of £49.
  •  The original Nokia 3310 had 35 ringtones built-in with space for seven custom tones. These could either be downloaded, or can be composed by the user using the tone composer.
  • One fan from Yorkshire loves his 3310 so much he's still using it. The device was purchased in 2000 and is still going strong.

Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 Plus to pack a Huge Battery from the Box

Image result for s8
Various reports has it recently that Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus smartphones will have bigger batteries than their predecessors. But it looks like Samsung will play it safe, to the detriment of anyone who wanted a longer-lasting device.

Even if we’d expect bigger batteries in brand new phones, Samsung is on the rebound following the Galaxy Note 7 battery fires, which forced the company to cancel the phones two months after it launched.
A korean site The Investor says the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will have smaller batteries than initially expected. The Samsung Galaxy S8 will pack a 3,000 mAh battery, while the phablet version will have a 3,500 mAh battery, these are almost the same capacities used last year for the Galaxy S7 (3,000 mAh) and Galaxy S7 edge (3,600 mAh). Previous reports released said the Galaxy S8 versions will have 3,250 and 3,750 mAh batteries.
The report notes that Samsung made some changes to its battery supplies following the Galaxy Note 7 debacle, by adding Japanese company Murata to its supply line.
so yeah, if you are considering geting the new Samsung Galaxy s8 which will be in the market in few weeks, then consider the weight that comes along with huge batteries.

Samsung Unveils 3 New Galaxy A Smartphones

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A3 (right), Galaxy A5 (middle) and Galaxy A7 (left), which are all water and dust resistance. The Galaxy A is also available in four colors including Black Sky (left), Gold Sand, Blue Mist (middle) and Peach Cloud (right)
Samsung kicked off the new year by launching three new smartphones. The South Korean electronics maker unveiled the Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7, which are all water and dust resistance, early Monday morning.

Each handset is designed with metal frame and a 3D glass back that was used in the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. The new line includes a small 4.7-inch (A3), the standard size of 5.2-inches (A5) and a larger design of 5.7-inches (A7).
Users will be able to pre-order the devices starting January 20.
'At Samsung, we are always trying to ensure our customers have the most advanced products on the market,' said said DJ Koh, President of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics.

'The latest Galaxy A series is a testament to this.'
'We integrated our unique approach to design as well as the features Galaxy customers have come to love to provide added performance without compromising on style.'
The new series comes a day after Samsung announced it will be sharing the results of an investigation into what caused some of its Galaxy Note 7 smartphones to catch fire.

The firm said in October it was examining all aspects of the phone, suggesting there may be a combination of factors that contributed to one of the costliest product safety failures in tech history. While Samsung originally put the problem down to the battery manufacturing process, reports earlier this week claim there was a fault in the phone itself.

The latest report suggest the fires were caused by an 'aggressive' design flaw that squeezed the phone's battery pack to dangerous pressure levels.
Samsung axed its Galaxy Note 7 smartphone in October this year, stopping production of the faulty device a day after it halted global sales of the product and offering everyone their money back.

Biggest Apple iPhone Leaks Online

iPhone 8 concept. Image credit: Veniamin Geskin
New iPhones have no secrets. That much has been true ever since the iPhone grew so popular it became impossible to contain the all leaks from its massive global supply chain. And now a new one is promising the biggest news of the next generation really is size.

Backing up several consistent leaks is yet another today from DigiTimes which ‘confirms’ Apple AAPL -0.72% will indeed supersize the iPhone in 2017.
“Apple will launch 4.7-, 5.5- and 5.8-inch new iPhone models in second-half 2017, with TFT-LCD panels to be used in the former two models and AMOLED for the 5.8-inch one...Global shipments of the AMOLED iPhone in 2017 are estimated at 60-70 million units,” the publication notes, citing its source.
It also claims Samsung will be the exclusive manufacturer of OLED panels used in the enlarged iPhone, supplying up to 20 million panels a month.
First things first, for a company which famously mocked larger phone sizes jumping to a 5.8-inch panel is somewhat surprising. Especially given rivals like Google, Samsung and LG have all downsized from 5.7 to 6-inch panels in their premium smartphones to standardise on 5.5 inches in recent years and Apple has done little to try and optimise the user experience in iOS to take advantage of the larger screen size of the iPhone Plus range compared to the standard model.
That said, I suspect the 5.8-inch measurement may include the edges considering the “all curve” display this new larger model is expected to have.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Rear Camera Lens Inexplicably Splints

Some Samsung Galaxy S7 users are finding their rear camera lens shattered despite the lack of impact
One company happy to see 2016 end tonight is Samsung. The company had a great start to 2016 as the SamsungGalaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 edge quickly became the top Android flagship models. And smartphone fanatics were eagerly awaiting the feature packed Samsung Galaxy Note 7. This was to be the first Galaxy Note model to be protected from the rain. And with that IP68 certification rating, the phablet could be submerged in up to nearly 5-feet of water for as long as 30-minutes and escape unscathed.

But in an attempt to throw everything into the Galaxy Note 7 but the kitchen sink, Samsung engineers tried to create internal space by designing a svelte battery. But in doing so, Samsung apparently didn't leave enough room to prevent volatile parts of the cell from touching. As a result, several Galaxy Note 7 units exploded. A couple of recalls later, and the Galaxy Note 7 was pulled off the market.

Read also - Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus to spot 6-inch display

The latest problem affecting Samsung has to do with the camera on the back of the Galaxy S7. In a story that was published in the Consumerist last week, a Galaxy S7 owner named Sean woke up and discovered that the glass on his back camera had shattered even though it was left untouched and in a case overnight.

As you might imagine, Sammy wasn't buying the story and refused to honor the warranty. Other owners of this model have apparently been experiencing the same issue and have posted about it on the Samsung Community website. While Samsung's response to some of the posts call the damage an "isolated incident," the thread contains 22 pages of similar complaints.

Even if you've already laid out the $70 or so that it costs to repair the camera lens, legal help might be on the way. A law firm named Keller Rohrback L.L.P. is looking to speak with Galaxy S7 owners whose rear camera lens shattered despite the lack of any impact. If this has indeed happened to you and Samsung refuses to give you the time of day, click on the sourcelink. The law might be on your side.

"Multiple consumers have reported instances of this glass cover shattering without any external force applied, leaving a perfect circle in the center of the glass as if it had been shot out. Despite receiving numerous customer complaints about this apparent defect, Samsung has consistently denied any responsibility, instead blaming its customers and refusing to repair or refund the devices even while still under warranty. Samsung recognizes that a quality camera is a critical distinguishing feature of any smartphone and heavily marketed the Galaxy S7 Series with this feature in mind. Without a usable camera, a smartphone is a device that only partially functional at best, and with Samsung refusing to repair or refund these defective phones, many consumers are finding themselves stuck with them."-Keller Rohrback LLP

Send Physical Kiss Over the Internet with Kissenger

Image result for kissenger
You can now send a physical kiss to your long-distance lover over the internet, thanks to a new smartphone gadget developed by researchers. The device, known as Kissenger works with pressure sensors and actuators.

It records the user's kiss and transmits it to an identical receiving device, which recreates it for the person on the other end through an app that also features videocalling.
"Kissing is the most direct and universal expression of intimacy and affection," said Emma Yann Zhang, who worked on the prototype as PhD student at City University London.
"It's a way for us to bond and maintain intimacy in our relationships," she said.
"Also, it stresses reducing; when we engage in this kind of intimate physical touch, we have a lower level of blood pressure," Zhang was quoted as saying by the 'Mirror'.
Parents can also use Kissenger to give their children a kiss on the cheek when they are away at work, researchers said.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus to spot 6-inch display

Samsung, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 rumours, Galaxy S8 release date, Galaxy S8 specs, Galaxy S8 mwc 2017, Galaxy S8 vs iPhone 8, Galaxy S8 Plus, technology, technology news
Samsung may be planning a larger version of the Galaxy S8 with a 6-inch display. A report on Naver claims that Samsung will offer the Galaxy S8 in two screen sizes, but one model will likely have a 6-inch size.

The standard version of the Galaxy S8 will continue to come with a 5-inch screen, while the S8 Plus will feature a 6-inch display. That’s a bit larger than the Note 7’s 5.7-inch display, but the report states that the smartphones will have a similar appearance, due to thinner bezels.

The report, citing a source within Samsung, claims that both Galaxy S8 models will sport a curved display. This is in line with previous rumours of Samsung altogether scrapping the flat model completely.

Samsung did consider to use an S-Pen with the Galaxy S8 Plus, but the add-on functionality was dropped from the phone, the report said. Looks like those plans were shelved in favor of keeping the Note brand alive.

Naver also says that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will ship with a voice controlled assistant. However, it has been constantly said that Google might prevent Samsung from adding AI to the Galaxy S8 since it would directly compete with its Pixel lineup, which is powered by Google Assistant.
The South Korean company started the year on a positive note with the success of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. Soon the company had to face a lot of trouble due to the Galaxy Note 7. But Samsung is looking forward to the Galaxy S8, its next-generation smartphone.

Samsung may unveil the Galaxy S8 in late February at MWC 2017, according to some published reports. Meanwhile, a report from Naver (via Sam Mobile) has said that the smartphone will be unveiled in April in New York city, instead.

List Of Smartphones To Be Release In 2017

Smartphones
The smartphone market has been stiff this year with the release of high ends smartphone devices, the likes of iPhone 7 and 7s, Samsung s7 and the exploding Samsung Note 7 to the likes of Hauwei, Lenovo, Asus and other top brands making up for a great smartphone year. 2107 however, promises better in terms of devices to be on the look out for. Here at theplaceng, we have compiled the list of smartphones that will be making huge difference in the coming year.
The tenth generation Apple flagship is the obvious place to start for 2017, with Apple expected to release something revolutionary to indeed recognize this notable landmark. It hardly seems a decade since the first iPhone was revealed, but in this 10-year period the smartphone has become by far the most dominant and recognizable piece of mobile technology on the planet.
Recent Apple iPhone releases have perhaps been a little disappointing, with the consumer electronics giant accused of being rather conservative with its efforts. While CEO Tim Cook presided over some outstanding financial success in his early years in the position, since then Apple sales have begun to recede, with critics accusing the company of piling things high and selling then cheaply, as opposed to innovating.
So the iPhone 8 is set to be a major departure from previous devices in the range, not least because three separate iPhone 8 models are expected. The new version is anticipated to feature a curved display and edge-to-edge design, while Apple will also likely improve the screen resolution of the device, include 3D technology in the camera, introduce wireless charging for the first time, and embrace OLED.
There are many other innovations already been linked with the iPhone page, which should be expected in September 2017.

Samsung Galaxy S8
It would be fair to say that 2016 was not the most salubrious in the history of Samsung, following the Galaxy Note 7 debacle. It is difficult to recall a bigger disaster in the history of smartphones than a major release which exploded on a regular basis and that was thus forced to be completely recalled!
Samsung will attempt to respond to this mini-tragedy by releasing two outstanding smartphones in 2017. And the first of these will be the Galaxy S8, expected to hit the market, as usual, in the first quarter of next year.
The Korean corporation has already noted in a press release that its mobile business faces massive pressure in the next 12 months. “The Mobile business saw its earnings decrease significantly QOQ due to the effects of the discontinuation of the Galaxy Note7. However, smartphone shipments remained solid due to continued stable sales of its existing flagship devices, including the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, and steady growth in the mid-tier Galaxy A and J series,” a press release noted. Clearly Samsung has some work to do to get back on track and regain the positive momentum it had developed before the exploding Note 7 issue came to light.
Samsung must hit the ground running with the Galaxy S8, thus we can expect some outstanding specifications for this smartphone. It is even possible that this could be the first 4K resolution smartphone that Samsung has released, but regardless of this the Galaxy S8 should be the highlight of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February.
It now also seems likely that Samsung will not discard the Galaxy Note branding, and will instead released the eighth generation of this mobile next year. Samsung obviously has a lot of work to do to restore the brand image of this particular device, but the Galaxy Note series had built up a significant amount of good will prior to the Note 7.
If the Galaxy S8 does not include a 4K resolution display, it seems almost a certainty that the Galaxy Note 8 will. Samsung has a policy of innovating with the Galaxy Note range, and we should expect this to be a particularly outstanding device.
OnePlus 4 / OnePlus 5
OnePlus has built up a significant following with solid, reliable, expensive and flexible smartphones, and this new release should be intriguing. It is worth noting that OnePlus may skip the branding of OnePlus 4, owing to the number being considered unlucky in China. Thus, the next-generation smartphone from the company could instead be branded as the OnePlus 5.

Early reports on this mobile competitor suggest that a ceramic body will dominate the exterior of the device, with massive updates in both software and hardware also expected, meaning that this could be the first quad HD smartphone from OnePlus.
Google Pixel 2
Google has yet to become the major player in the smartphone niche that it would undoubtedly like to be, but perhaps the Pixel 2 to can begin to change this. Many believe that previous Google Pixel releases are truly outstanding, but that the relatively high price tag has prevented the smartphone from becoming a mainstream device.
Nonetheless, Google is expected to update the Pixel still further in 2017, and this should be an adventurous and exciting smartphone when it is released. Because of the embryonic nature of the smartphone range, it is not certain when the Google Pixel 2 will be released, or precisely what will be involved. But Google would be particularly advised to ensure that the Pixel 2 is presented at a competitive price point.
LG G6
LG has produced some wonderful smartphones over the years, and the LG G5 was particularly well-received critically. However, the Korean corporation has never been one willing to stand still, and of course the company has confirmed that the G6 will not feature a modular component.
This means a significant reinvention of the flagship smartphone once more, suggesting that there will be big changes to the design of this mobile. An LG release is always intriguing, as the company arguably takes more risks than any other smartphone competitor. So the LG G6 will be well worth looking out for in 2017.
Finally, the welcome return of Nokia to the smartphone marketplace, with two new Android-driven handsets, will be intriguing to monitor. Early reports on these devices suggest that Nokia will focus on delivering outstanding display quality, unique design and excellent battery life to ensure convenience. Can Nokia become a major smartphone player again in 2017?
