OMG!!! Professor in Ambrose Alli arrested for cultism

http://www.yabaleftonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Ambrose-Ali.jpg

The Edo state Police command have arrest three lectures of the Ambrole Ali University, Ekopma for allegedly involving themselves in cult-related activities.

Haliru Gwandu, the state’s Commissioner of Police disclosed the development to journalists in Benin on Tuesday, adding that firearms were recovered from the arrested lecturers.

Among those arrested was a professor, from whom a double-barrel gun, single-barrel gun and one pump action gun were allegedly recovered.
The police commissioner said, “The professor was arrested. He was granted bail. The case is under investigation.”

Gwandu’s statement came less than a week after the command refuted reports that its operatives allegedly brutalised the Dean of the Faculty of Law of the university, Prof. Sunday Edeko.

The commissioner expressed displeasure over the high rate of cultism around the institution located in Esan West Local Government Area, which he said had claimed many lives.

He said there had been distress calls from members of the university community that cult groups were unleashing mayhem in the area.

“It was a distress call from the community; the university community made a call that cult groups were killing and they killed so many.

“And at the time when they (policemen) went to inspect a site, they discovered more than 14 beheaded students at that particular time,” he said.

He, however, vowed that the police would ensure that the leaders and members of cult groups in the area were arrested and charged to court.

Gwandu said, “We have a lot of issues with that particular university. There are some senior lecturers that were apprehended with firearms.

“So, we are going to arrest those who are mentoring and those who are real cultists and charge them to court. There is no going back.”

ENTREPRENEURS: 14 Top Lucrative Farming Ventures in Nigeria In Order of Significance

Image result for Agriculture
Note: Before Anything in farming, just be sure to Put in place security provisions on your farmland as top priority for the safety of lives and property before anything else so that you don't toil or labour in vain. To achieve this feat, you can employ the service of community or trusted security persons or the service of ferocious and unfriendly foreign breed guard dogs as such as Pit bulls, Rottweiler, boerboel, German Shepherd, Russian Huskey, or Caucasian. For me I am most comfortable with the use of Ferocious Guard dogs on crop farm with a dog keeper on sight with someone on site to manage the dogs.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo Celebrates Birthday Today - Profile and Biography

Image result for obasanjo in military uniform
The first Civilian President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo was born circa 5 March, 1938, in Ogun State; and grew up in Owu, Abeokuta. His first name, Olusegun, means "The Lord is victorious".

Obasanjo was married three times: 1. to Mrs. Oluremi (Remi) Obasanjo – who is the mother of his oldest children, the most well-known being Dr. Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello, a former Senator of Ogun State; 2. to Lynda Obasanjo – who was fatally shot when armed men ordered her out of her car in 1987; 3. to Stella Obasanjo – who died after a cosmetic surgery procedure in Spain in 2005.

Obasanjo has many children, who live throughout Nigeria, the United Kingdom and the United States. His son, Dare Obasanjo, is a Principal Program Manager for Microsoft. His another son, Adeboye Obasanjo, who is a Lieutenant Colonel at the 3rd Division in Jos, Plateau State, was shot in the legs by Boko Haram in Baza in September 2014.

A Nigerian of Yoruba descent, Obasanjo was a career soldier before serving twice as his nation's head of state.

In 1995, Obasanjo was imprisoned on fabricated charges of plotting a coup to depose General Sani Abacha. He was released only after Abacha's sudden death on 8 June 1998. While in prison, Obasanjo became a born-again Christian.

In 1999, Obasanjo became President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. 29 May 1999, the day Obasanjo took office as the first elected and civilian head of state in Nigeria after 16 years of military rule, is now commemorated as Democracy Day, a public holiday in Nigeria. Most of his first term he spent travelling abroad.

In 2003, Obasanjo was re-elected in a tumultuous election that had violent ethnic and religious overtones. With high oil prices, Obasanjo’s government oversaw a doubling of Nigeria’s average economic growth rate to 6 per cent. And as a result, he left Nigeria almost debt free.

Obasanjo was embroiled in controversy regarding his "Third Term Agenda," a plan to modify the constitution so he could serve a third, four-year term as President. However, the bill was not ratified by the National Assembly. Later Obasanjo denied involvement in this so-called "Third Term Agenda."

In 2008, he was appointed by the United Nations as a special envoy for Africa and has since overseen democratic elections on behalf of the African Union and Ecowas in countries across the continent.

His current home is Abeokuta, the capital city of Ogun State, where he is a nobleman as the holder of the chieftaincy titles of the Balogun of the Owu Lineage and the Ekerin Balogun of the Egba clan of Yorubaland.

8 things To Do to Get a Job Irrespective of Grades

Image result for Graduate
Many Nigerian students spend the first two years of their stay in the university playing. Teenagers who have been caged for long use the opportunity to unleash the demons in them and know what it feels like to be free; afterwards, they settle down to the school business and find ways of making something good out of their lives.

Lots of emphasis is always laid on finishing with a ‘good grade’. Finishing with a good grade in Nigeria means either having a first class or 2.1 as a university graduate; anything short of this is considered not good enough.

Also, most of the jobs applied for have certain requirements that the applicants are expected to have. The labour market favours those with good grades over people with 2.2.

This is not to mean that graduates who have a third-class or a pass do not get good jobs at the end of the day. The thing done by the graduates after leaving school will determine how far they will go in getting their dream jobs.

Check out the things you can do to improve your chances of getting a good job if you graduated with a 2.2.

1. Change your mentality
You need to let go of the limiting thoughts that could drag you back.
Finishing with a 2.2 is not the end of the world. Some graduates in the past refused to attend their convocation ceremonies simply because they did not do well by their own standards.

You are who you think you are; do not allow some grade written on a paper to prevent you from moving forward and doing something meaningful with your life. You attitude towards life must change if you want to leave your footsteps in the sands of time.

2. Discover what you are good at
If you are a Nigeria you must have heard this popular phrase ‘Exam is not the true test of someone’s ability’. You might have finished with a 2.2 by not doing so well in a course.

Most people make a particular grade by few points. Do not dwell on this grade, find what you are good at and see where it takes you to. What are your unique attributes? Lay more emphasis on them when applying for jobs.

3. Boost your confidence and communication skills
Those who graduate with a 2.1 may have a big problem getting a job if they do not know how to sell themselves.

To get a good job with a 2.2 grade, you have to develop some skills that will be highly useful to the companies you are applying to. Improve on your communication skills and you have a great chance of convincing an employer to give you the job.

4. Add professional certifications to your grade
Instead of drooling on the grade you have made in school, you can make plans to boost your qualifications. Take short certificate courses and improve yourself the best way you can.

You will be surprised to see how far you will go when you do this. Graduates with professional certifications stand a better chance of getting jobs irrespective of their grades in school.

5. Do all it takes to gain experience
At this point, you should not focus on making money if you want to make it big. Do not let your ego overrule when offered job in smaller companies. Jump at those opportunities because they will prepare you for the road ahead.

It is a learning curve; whatever experience you gain there may give you an edge over those who finished with good grades.

6. Drop your CV everywhere
Your CVs are to be shared everywhere; do not see this as a waste of paper and money. You never can tell when the hard copies would be picked by some interested employers.
You stand to lose more if you do not risk taking a risk. Make yourself available for every job till you get to the stage where you can make a choice and turn down offers.

7. Network
Be opened to networking in order to meet important people in the labour market.
The social media should be used as a tool for meeting important contacts that can change your life forever. Do not appear less serious on it; there are a couple of pages that you can sell yourself and make employers get attracted to your profile.

LinkedIn, Facebook and other pages can connect you with important people in the society. Be available to go for conferences and have the contacts of these people. You may need them to call a shot on your behalf one day.

8. Pray for GRACE
There are some job applications that grace will take over for you if you pray.
Grace makes the unqualified qualified. Finishing with a 2.2 should not discourage you and prevent you from soaring high in life. Apply for jobs and ask for divine intervention at every point in time.

Some graduates have gotten six figure jobs in places where they do not know anyone and are not qualified. When the world expects you to know someone, tell them you know God and see what happens next.

Jackpot!!! Barack and Michelle Obama lands $60M book deal

Image result for images of barack obama and michelle
Penguin Random House has landed a deal to publish two forthcoming memoirs by former U.S. President Barack Obama and the former first lady, Michelle Obama, with one volume to be written by each, the publishing company said on Tuesday.

Terms of the agreement, in which Penguin Random House acquired worldwide publication rights for the two books, were not disclosed, but Financial Times said the Obamas may have set a record deal in excess of $60million.

But in keeping with their past practice, the Obamas plan to donate a “significant portion of their author proceeds to charity,” including the Obama Foundation, the publisher said in a statement.

The deal followed a heated auction for global rights to the two books with bidding that reached more than $60 million, a record sum for U.S. presidential memoirs, the Financial Times reported, citing people with knowledge of the sales process.

By comparison, fellow Democrat and former President Bill Clinton earned $15 million for rights to his 2004 memoir “My Life” after he left office, while Obama’s immediate predecessor, Republican George W. Bush, reaped some $10 million from his book “Decision Points,” according to the Financial Times. Those books were published by Penguin Random House division Knopf and by Crown, respectively.

Penguin Random House also published Obama’s three previous books — “Dreams of My Father,” “The Audacity of Hope,” “Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters.”

The company did not disclose the subject matter of the two forthcoming books, or a time frame for them to be published, but they will presumably cover Obama’s time in the White House as the first African-American U.S. president.

Among other publishers that bid on Obama deal were HarperCollins, a unit of News Corp, and Simon & Schuster, owned by CBS Corp, the Financial Times said.

Ghen Ghen!!! Candidates with "awaiting results" no longer qualified to write Jamb effective from this year

Image result for images of jamb

With effect from this year (2017), candidates awaiting results would no longer be eligible to apply for the Universities Tertiary Matriculation Examination, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, said in Abuja on Tuesday.

The organisation also said it had concluded all restructuring and reforms and is now set to commence the sale of its application document in March.

The restructuring exercise will now allow for only one choice of public university in which new registration platform will now be first choice, second choice, third choice and fourth choice and not most preferred, preferred choice.

A statement by the spokesperson of JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said the agency had taken time to add value to the services it have been offering to Nigerians for over three decades.

According to him, the restructuring was aimed at expanding the opportunities available to candidates since almost all the public universities do not consider candidates on the second choice list because they hardly exhaust their first choice.

He said, “We have designed a Central Admissions Processing System where the Board will interface with the institutions and ensure the compliance of this reform. The summary is that no candidate will be admitted with awaiting result.

Candidates and their parents are also to note that JAMB has restructured the registration platform to allow for only one choice of public university. The new registration platform will now be first choice, second choice, third choice and fourth choice and not most preferred, preferred etc as it was.

“Candidates’ first choice can be a College, University, Innovative Enterprises Institutions or Polytechnic/Monotechnic. However, if a candidate makes a Public University his first choice, he will not have any public University to choose for second, third and fourth choice.

He will have on the remaining three choices, a College, Polytechnic, Private University and IEI’S. However, candidates for the 2017 UTME can now select National Certificate in Education (College) or National Diploma (Polytechnic/Monotechnic) as their first choice up to third choice and the fourth IEI. They can select the IEI (Innovative Enterprise Institution, ND) as their first choice up to the fourth choice, but can only pick a public university once.”

Busted!!! UNIOSUN to expel over 4000 students for investing school fee in MMM

Image result for images of MMM
Management of the University of Osun, UNIOSUN, has threatened to expel over 4,000 students for allegedly using their school fees to “invest” in popular Ponzi scheme, Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox, MMM and other purpose.

A statement issued by the acting registrar of the institution, Gafar Shitu disclosed that the affected students are owing fees amounting to over N2bn.

According to the statement, “Over 4000 students of Osun State University may lose their studentship for failing to pay their school fees before the expiration of February 28, 2017, deadline set by the university management.

“No fewer than 400 parents/guardians of the defaulting students have called the University help lines to report that they had long given money to their children/wards.

“The university Senate at its meeting of January 26, 2017, after observing that a large number of students had refused to turn up in spite of ceaseless appeals, decided that the students’ portal be reopened longer into the 12th week of resumption against the four weeks stipulated in the University regulations.

“The decision of the University Senate, which was adequately communicated to all the students on February 2, 2017, was to afford more students the opportunity to pay their fees with effect from 17th to 24th February 2017, a date which was later extended until February 28, 2017.

“On 16 February 2017, some students embarked on a protest against the enforcement of extant rules and regulations regarding fee payment and registration.

“Investigations show that over 90 percent of the protesters had not registered for between two and 11 semesters, and were thus using the stipulated late registration penalty of N10, 000 as a smokescreen for their years of defaulting in fee payment and registration.”

EDITORIALS - ECONOMICS OF SUCCESS by BELLO SUBOR

 Image result for economic trend
The future seems dazzling growing up from childhood. I could recall my best days during childhood wasn’t my birthdays, but the fateful day, I used to be called upon the podium to receive the reward of my steadfastness with academics.
I have aced all core subjects, and the pronouncement of my name to receive prizes once will not suffice until Parents were taken aback, found astonished and couldn’t help than either give a standing ovation or complain bitterly, usually with the sentence: “Is He the only one.” You, Yeah, You, my esteemed reader will subscribe to this fact even with better tales to commemorate.

We wanted to be just exactly like great and amazing personalities who reaped their kin interest and incomparable affection for books. It was then more like, go to the four walls of the school, be amongst the forerunners and then there you are, in abundant wealth. This legitimate basis is the main reason I will not castigate authors of articles and short write ups I read on social media, discerningly condemning academic pursuits.

Dear Students, whether undergraduate, Postgraduate or Professional, please do have a paradigm shift, ignore the conception youths of nowadays have developed and which has since pushed them into immoral and illicit acts, all of which we may exhaust the whole day trying to list. I just found an antidote to our misconception, “Economics of Success’.

The concept of Economics of Success not only works for Academic achievement and success but also can be adopted in all success-demanding endeavors.
The biggest problem that gave rise to the concept of Economics of Success is Scarcity. Scarcity as in the standard economics perception is the limited resources that satisfy various wants of man. Resources to compensate academic success is so scarce and why students feel so disdained, frustrated and mischievous when at the completion of school programs, they are unemployed for a very extended period or that they get ridiculous pay-slips that do not commensurate the efforts they had given to academics.

Here is the solution, please proffer answers to the questions; What is Success to me? How can I achieve Success?? For whom is Success necessary??

The Question of what is success tackles the Problem of Identifying and determining success. This is the bedrock upon which the all wanted Success can be pursued. It is often believed that once you can recognize your limitations or problems, they are half-solved already. What success means to me then depends on my perception of life, on my core competencies, on my strategic capabilities amongst others.

Take this as an exercise, Please, close your eyes for few minutes and have an insight of how you want your success to be. Should I disclose what I got?? I could see myself sitting on the very high table (looks like the boardroom, also sounds like a professional conference and seminar) where the master of ceremony almost got fed-up with the level of accolades and warmth applause that I got while the MC was reading my profile. My dear is this what you got too?? Yours could be on the pitch you know?? Yours can even be with the future’s Olamide (Badoo). Congratulations, you have just crossed the first hurdle, relax and go to the next paragraph.

How do I achieve success answers the problem of What Strategy do I adopt to achieve Success? Esteemed readers, it is about finding the means to achieve the ends. For someone like me, that desire to be a boardroom expert, business solution provider, a well-celebrated accountant and a rich cum generous and practicing Muslim, all I need to do is to design standards to achieve this end (Scale of Preferences) from inception.

There is need to start advocating this to new Tertiary institution entrants; School isn’t about making good grades alone. Of course making good grades might be a sufficient basis to attaining your set dreams in your case as in mine. You need to fathom out schemes on how to attain Success from Childhood and make moves towards aggressively accomplishing them (Choice). A thorough grasp into the lifestyle of today’s successful men would justify the need to start planning at an early stage. Someone who wants employment, should learn how to ace a job interview, prepare for job tests, develop essential job skills and all necessary “I”s and “T”s that needs due diligence. It all boils down to one's perception of success. As Stephen Covey said, Begin with the end in mind.

The Last question addresses the problem of ‘Why one needs to succeed?’ (Efficiency of Resources) You need yourself most importantly. Your family needs you, so does your country, your friends need you to realize; the less privilege needs you. Your religion does too. The World entirely holds you in the high esteem and needs you to succeed outstandingly. If this drives you, while you have satisfied the other two, your success is imminently knocking because this serves as motivation to spur you to Success as Management Scientists would say, Motivation is the inner-drive that makes employees want to do more.

I will end this article with the saying of Vince Lombardi, he asserts; the will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential, these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence. Don’t be indifferent, be passionate about your dreams, commit yourself to your potential and you and I will meet at the zenith of our careers.

SEE Reasons Why You Should Minimize your Garlic Intake

Image result for Ginger
Ginger is regarded as a flowering plant, which is native to China, and it’s considered to be one of the healthiest herbs. Its scientific name is Zingiber officinal and it’s a member of the family Zingiberaceae.
It is very high in nutrients and bioactive compounds, which mean it has a beneficial effect on the entire body, and it could be used in both, medicine and cooking.
Since it is especially effective in numerous ailments with the digestive system, it is considered to be “the cure for everything”. The high amounts of enzymes in its content are assisting the decomposing and digestion of food and detoxification of the body.
However, even though it is very useful in the case of various health issues and conditions, ginger is not recommended in these cases:

Blood disorders

Ginger boosts the blood flow and it stimulates circulation, so it is very beneficial in the case of diabetes, obesity, Raynaud’s disease or peripheral artery disease, but it needs to be avoided by those people who suffer from hemophilia.
Hemophilia is a genetic disorder when the clotting ability of the blood is reduced, which means that even a small bleeding injury could lead to death.
Therefore, ginger is able to neutralize the effects of the medications used in this case and could aggravate the situation and cause deadly hemorrhaging.

Certain types of medications

Those persons who take medications for high blood pressure or diabetes belong to the special risk group because ginger might change their effects on the body.

The combinations of ginger with insulin drugs, beta-blockers or anticoagulants can be extremely harmful. Namely, ginger is stimulating blood thinning and reduces the blood pressure, and these properties lower the effects of these medications.

Underweight people

In case you have to gain some weight, you should not consume ginger nor take supplements based on ginger as this root is high in fibers, raises the pH level of the stomach, and stimulates digestive enzymes.
Therefore, it leads to fat burning and it lowers the cravings for food, and it could also lead to weight loss, menstrual irregularities, poor muscle mass, and hair loss.

Pregnancy

Ginger is rich in stimulants that support the muscle health and help digestion. However, its usage during pregnancy could lead to premature contractions and preterm labors.
Note that its use is especially forbidden in the last trimester of the pregnancy. Also, consider the fact that it inhibits the absorption of the fat- soluble vitamins and dietary iron.
Still, you can use it is small amounts as it effectively alleviates the morning sickness, just make sure to consult your doctor beforehand.

Ginger substitutes

In case you belong to some of the groups of people that were mentioned above, you can substitute ginger with cayenne pepper, sweet peppers, or red paprika.
Milka Raicevic, who is the world famous nutritionist, claims that the effects of the peppers are similar to those of the ginger. You can consume red paprika if you like spicy foods, or consume sweet peppers if you don’t. You can prepare cleaning drinks by adding them to lemonade.

Meet the best Graduating student of the University of Nigeria

http://www.yabaleftonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Eke-Emmanuel.jpg

Eke Ifeanyichukwu Emmanuel is 2015/2016 best graduating student of the University of Nigeria, with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.83.

In an interview with Vanguard Learning, Eke revealed that in order to survive as a student, he used ropes as belts and drank garri daily.

Read excerpts below:

I am Eke Ifeanyichukwu Emmanuel, a first class graduate of the department of Microbiology, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

What were the challenges you passed through while in school?

I had a whole lot of challenges. One of them was financial challenge. I am from a very humble background. We reside in Aba.

I remember in my first and second years, I used to drink garri (cassava flakes) and eat Fibre active biscuit. It was a daily ration to me. I also used ropes as belts as a student. I remember then, I had few clothes. No shoes to where, only slippers.

Having money to pay my fees was an issue. I stayed in the hostel from first year till I graduated. In my first year, I was having an eye challenge. Then, I would be seated in front of the classroom. Yet, I would not see what was written on the board. No money to go to the hospital for check up talk less of getting glasses.

I had a D in a three unit load first year course. It was a motivational factor that spurred me into reading more.

What is your dream having graduated from the university?

My dream is to continue giving my best. I see myself as an educationalist. I want to establish schools. I want to change the ways our secondary school students are being taught.

Chai!!! See what a guy with two masters degree was spotted doing

I just can't help but shake my head at the current status quo of the economy.
There is nothing wrong with a graduate doing this, however, it is unlikely that someone would go through all that stress and spend money on two Masters Degrees, just to end up in a mascot regalia.

Members of NYSC suffers rejection from agencies of primary assignment; laments

Image result for images of nysc
Some members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), deployed to Abuja, are complaining of rejection by agencies of the Federal Government where they were posted for primary assignment.

The affected corps members, on Thursday, said that a major reason being given for their rejection was the lack of funds to pay monthly stipends.

The complainants are from the 2016 Batch B (Stream II) who just completed their three-week orientation programme.

A graduate of the Kogi State University, Ojodomo Ogu, said that the agency where he was posted flatly turned him down.

According to Ogu, the unidentified agency based its decision on lack of provision for corps members’ stipends in its 2017 budget.

Expressing his frustration, he said there was no need for the NYSC scheme to continue, if government institutions could no longer accommodate corps members.

A female graduate from the University of Jos, Chioma Agbasi, said she was rejected on the “flimsy excuse” of lack of vacancy.

Similarly, Julie Andrew from the University of Lagos observed that the rejection was not limited to government institutions.

“I was posted to a micro-finance bank in the Central Area of Abuja which rejected me, citing lack of vacancy after they kept me waiting for two days.

“Thereafter, I returned to the NYSC office which re-posted me to a government agency located in the Central Area of Abuja, but the story was the same.

“To make matters worse, most employers do not provide accommodation for corps members, and this has made life difficult for those who do not have families and friends in Abuja,’’ Andrew said.

Also narrating his ordeal, Jonathan Adewale said he was first posted to a private firm operating in his area of specialisation, but was turned down on the excuse of re-organisation.

A polytechnic graduate, Aisha Hamza, said she was rejected simply because the organisation accepted only university graduates.

“At the end of the day, I had to accept serving in a secondary school in Bwari without payment, and where there is also no decent accommodation,” Hamza lamented.

Managing Director of an engineering company, Mr. Dada Rabihu, gave reasons why most corps members are rejected by organisations.

“Most times, we reject corps members because what they studied in school is irrelevant to the organisations’ areas of operations.

“For instance, last year, a corps member who studied Hausa Language and Literature was posted to us.

“We felt since he could not contribute anything meaningful to the growth of the company, the best thing was to reject him. It is not only in our interest but also for his own good.

“When you take into consideration the fact that the corps member needs to gather work experience that is related to his field of study you will accept our position,” Rabihu said. (NAN)

YOU ARE A DEGREE HOLDER IRRESPECTIVE

In varying degrees, all of us are degree holders with varying degrees.- 'Femi Awolesi

The number one thing the overwhelming majority of college students all over the world is seeking, is a degree. But in spite of this degree-seeking escapade, I'm quite convinced that all of us (even without the aquisition of this so-called degree)- with different colours, heights, languages, weights, cultures- are degree holders with varying degrees.

Every one of us has a bachelor's degree in what he or she was born to do, but only few people possess a master's degree in it. We all have natural talents, abilities and proclivities.

While it is veritable that some people are aware of theirs, others will have to dig deep like one who's looking for his lost coin in the water. We are all gifted for something, we are all unique and our uniqueness should and must glorify God.

Some people on waking up love to sing aloud, other people love to solve dispute. Few love to motivate. A number of people love to share the message of Jesus as they feel so great an intense desire to do so.

Others love to give, give and give so that the next persons might receive, eat and live.‎ Few motivate. A few love to take charge.

Select few don't know what they're born to do(and as such, they end up living someone else's dream, thereby becoming a prototype or second to such).

It's quite unfortunate that some, till now, live like a spectator watching a football match. Yet, they don't learn anything.

As we age, the indicators allow us to have a mental picture of our destiny. Some, however, are not able to recognize their true selves, perhaps, as a result of pessimisms and criticisms which they take for a reality and in turn, they become ambassadors of mediocrity.

Someone said, 'God doesn't make junks'. Even though this is true, many have denigrated themselves to the height of a toothpick. What a pity!

T‎hey settled for less.

Quite a few of the bachelor's degree holders have a MASTERY of what they are born to do. Because upon realization of whatsit, they were wise to learn the skill, do the drill and satisfy their inner urge. They put into action what Jesus, the master Teacher of all time said:

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hid in a field; when a man had found it, he hid it, and for joy thereof went and sold all that he had, and bought that field.

Prior to this time, they sought counsel amongst people- young and old- specially those who had gone ahead of them. In the end, they simply drew it out, for c‎ounsel in the heart of man, Solomon says, is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.

These people hold a master's degree. Unlike those who are satisfied with the initial degree who do not plow by the reason of the cold.

To stand out as masters of our gifting, we must not settle for less but rather, settle less. We must keep on keeping on. Since deep calls unto deep, we must dig deep to dip out the deep in deep.

We were not born to be mediocre in this journey called life. God has created us champions, we mustn't die not winning.

A sector of the select few have got a PhD for themselves by not only teaching humanity with their gifts but teaching them the how-tos.

They have solved a great deal of problems and have learnt that if they do not hoist their flags upon the hearts of others before their demise, no one would realize they were here.

They are not self-centered like the man whom God called a fool. They have established a school or group so as to transmit the genius in them to others.

In the final analysis, we will not be asked what we have learned but what and how we have done this and that which we have been given.

Paul told Timothy, "stir up the gift of God that is in you". But the question I ask is: Will your gift bring about moral decadence in our changing, perturbing, challenging and decaying culture?

You want to sing music. What sort of songs do you want to breathe out into humanity? You want to shoot videos; what sort of videos occupy your thoughts? You want to go into fashion-designing; what kinda clothes do you want to make?

See, if we refuse to use our tools for the right and essential purposes of God, we will only decay gradually, and be as a recluse abused through disuse. The words that hit my head now are: Things fall apart, (you, complete it).

As I wrap things up, I want to remind you that you are thoroughly beautiful; a masterpiece of divine architectural dexterity, created not to blend in, lend in, or end in mumbo-jumbos of everyday life but, to make a difference within and without.

We all have been conferred a degree from above but it is up to us to go farther and not dabble our way through life, vacillating.

Remember, all are degree holders with varying degrees.
